First Kilted Outing!!

There were many business travellers restrictively trousered, and as I walked proudly kilted through the lobby, I received only the merest glances and heard no disparagements. .....I performed my first "Hamish Pleat Sweep" in front of two dudes sitting in the lobby and they didn't bat an eye.

The concierge (a very nice lady) actually said "That's a nice look, sir." WOOHOO!!! My first compliment from a lady!

We went to a Harris Tweeter to get some cold drinks and an asst manager said "Wow! Cool Kilt!"

Got a few glances from some of the ladies in the store. Heard no comments about my masculinity since I was accompanied by a purty lady AND a toddler...............

I'm glad for your positive experience. I have found that most of the time no one says anything. Most of those that do say sonething speak positively, but there are a few others. Be ready for them.

Sounds like a great start. If you like the freedom do try regimental at some point, at least to decide whether its right for you. I prefer regimental but occasionally go for the loose boxers depending on circumstances.

My first time wearing a kilt was probably when I was barely out of diapers, (I danced in one till I was about 14 and then again with my daughter when she was about 15) but the only time I wear anything bifurcated with one, is when I'm highland dancing, and then, it's black briefs, or a black thong/pouch/banana hammock.
