Yepp, same kilt carrier as I have - very satisfied

You are so right; why grumble about £19 - it sure makes life easier, and the monies would have been spent on less worthy things anyway

    A nice incident:
Travelling home from Stansted/London to Norway last month I was fully aware of the clamp-down on security and the s-t-r-i-c-t enforcement of one-piece-of-hand-luggage-only. I had a christening to attend the next day, and there was no way I would send the chosen kilt in the hold. So, equipped with one piece of hand luggage AND the kilt roll I politely requested the security staff if they might consider letting me bring my kilt carrier on-board too. Once the 6'5" security guard got the confirmation that "yes, it is my family's tartan", he hailed over to the guys at the scanner to accept my kilt carrier (but the kilt pin went in the hold)

You must have been very fortunate Porrick - I even had to stuff my camera into my hand luggage at Manchester Airport the other week just to get it through security because of the jobsworth attitude even though they wouldn't give a stuff if I took it out again immediately afterwards!

Coming back from Cyprus no such ruling!

Hmm, maybe. I usually ask politely, rather than trying to sneak things past. Anyway, I had a back-up plan of simply buckling on my kilt if needed...

I'm travelling back to Scotland in December and have been hoping to get my kilt carrier on as hand luggage.

Flying in might not be a problem as many countries have not introduced such a rule, flying out again could be the challenge.

I'm flying to Edinburgh from Cardiff a week on Friday and will be wearing a kilt anyway with another in the carrier in the hold luggage.
