For what it's worth, I think that's a very sharp looking outfit; the color scheme gives it kind of a modern edge. The Scots have a well-earned reputation for independence & being their own man, so I think it's great making your own statement - if you like the way it looks, wear it proudly! Black hose with a black shirt is a good match, in my book. As you've noticed, full-mask sporrans have a polarizing affect on folks, so expect some flak from the PETA crowd. If you're lucky, though, maybe some sweet lassie will want to pet your sporran! I do have one small critique - I'd shorten the tie (tuck the back part into your shirt, if needed); a long tie shouldn't cover your buckle; you want the bottom point of the tie to be just above the top of your kilt. Well done!

I agree with RR. Shorten the tie but otherwise it looks good. Maybe a tie with less sheen to it also, say, a red wool to match the red in your kilt.

I think everything looks great but I would just like to point out that you are not keeping off the grass.

The kilt, jacket and plaid look great. The red tie makes you look like a thermometer.

That rocks
The outfit is awesome. The sporran is way cool. I had convinced my wife that I needed such a sporran, and she didnt mind, but with the leather sporran, formal sporran, masonic sporran..etc, I just couldnt justify it. The tie seems a little bold. The brightness seems to take away from the tartan, like a distractor. I would think a darker tie, and allow the red in the tartan to be the eye catcher.
looks great either way. Are you wearing it for a formal event, or just modeling the ensamble?

Kool
I like the whole thing. My wife said she saw a reward poster for Fifi but on second look She relized it was a fox, and since a fox got into the chicken cope next door and ruined our supply of fresh eggs, she said KOOL.

I think that the Jacket, shirt, kilt, socks & shoes look great, however a darker & shorter tie would look better, but the sporran justs dominates the hole outfit, & in my opinion, destroys the look. A semi-dress sporran would look better. Not a lover of fly plaids.

Ya know....it's not an outfit I would have put together but maybe I just didn't think of it. It doesn't strictly follow the traditional rules but guess what? Neither do we. Either way I LIKE it. Good job.
