From Wikipedia:
Federal Air Marshals must operate independently without backup, and rank among those Federal law enforcement agencies that hold the highest standard for handgun accuracy. They blend in with passengers and rely on their training, including investigative techniques, criminal terrorist behavior recognition, firearms proficiency, aircraft specific tactics, and close quarters self-defense measures to protect the flying public.
I've been in some places where those are the perfect qualifications for a waitress.
Btw, somehow you remind me of Red Sonja from the "Conan the Barbarian" comic books:

More specifically, I'm applying as a Federal Air Marshal. Long flights, lots of travel and I get to shoot people. What more could you ask for? I sent in the application today and I've got my background check information completed, so I may be heading off into the wild blue yonder in a few months.
I had rather hoped to find a good job close to home so I could keep my animals and relax in the beautiful farmland with chickens following me around the yard, but I guess such is not to be.
oh god you dont want to be a waitress are you kidding lol, well i hope something better comes up for you good luck

LOL!! That's very true!
That's not the first time I've heard that. But I don't think my chain mail bikini fits anymore.

It's hard getting out of the 'spook' community. I retired from the Navy in '94. Did some other things, but back 'spooking'. Being a spook the background should go smoothly, it's just the backlog they have. If you have a 9mm, start practicing. Marksmanship washes out more marshals than anything else.
Don't know if there are any marshal routes to Key West but if there are I'll buy you a few at Finnegan's.
