    PC critique wanted

ok, so I got my PC in, and the jacket seems a bit big about the belly. it is a 46 long. If I cross my arms, the from parts of the jacket overlaps quite a bit ( five inches or so overlap)

Can I get some input as to what needs adjusting?

    here is a pic:

oh, I know a a belt is not normally worn with a PC, but I'd much rather have the belt. and yes, I know it is off-center. The pic I took with it centered was blurry.

I think it looks great. If you're really concerned that it's too big around, you could always gain weight. That's what I did!

Despite what the purists say - I'm with you on the belt. I just don't feel dressed without it.

    Jacket looks perfect to me...really!

Some will disagree, but I think black hose will look great with the saffron kilt (like the "saffron" piper)....off white is generally accepted as "the" dress hose, so do what you like best yourself.

And yes...the belt...without would be better I guess, but it's not a big deal, you like it better with the belt, so keep it

I think you look great...just don't control the traffic when you wear such a jacket...they always look best when you stand like you do on the picture.

    Awesome outfit...classy!

oh, I did manage to cause quite a stir. at the event I wore this too ( at a casino) a male guard approached at the end of the night to ask the question. I asked him "Who put you up to asking?" he replied "Every woman on the floor".

I guess no one else thought it was too big either. The manager on the floor at the time was there when this happened. I told her she needed to put all the guys in kilts to get a huge increase in female traffic.

    she agreed.

Looks fine to me. I really like the look of the saffron kilt with the black jacket.

Yes, that Saffron looks great with the PC! I'm a no-belt-with-PC guy myself, but that looks fine...

The oufit looks good. I would prefer it with no belt (but as long as you know the rule and are making a conscious choice that's fine). Your shoes don't look quite dressy enough for the PC emsemble. If you can manage to make some saffron flashes (maybe with black hose like Robin suggested) that would look smashing. All in all well done.

    Cheers

To answer your original question ----

The waist of the jacket is a little large. To re-cut it though would take a good tailor. Preferably one with experience making military uniforms.

It would entail taking in the side and back seams. Don't touch the front at all.
The placement of the shoulders seems perfect. It just needs a little tweeking in the curved side and back seams.

If you're anywhere near a military base go see one of the tailors in the nearest town. Find one with a lot of mess dress jackets in his shop for work. This shop should be able to do the job very well.
