Sportcoat adaptions: call for pics
If you've adapted a sportcoat to a kilt jacket, either yourself or had a tailor do it, would you mind putting a pic or two of them in this thread? If you're cool with me putting a copy of that pic up on my sportcoat adaption web site, leave me a line of text to that effect, please?
I'm thinking that a sampling of pics of XMarks guys successfully adapted jackets might be helpful and encouraging to others who are considering tackling the project.

Alan,
I am traveling this week, but I will post some pics when I get back this weekend. I got a jacket from the Salvation Army for $3, and had a tailor modify it for $40. I think I should have had it taken up just a bit shorter, but was afraid to make it too short.

Jacket shortened, slash pockets sewn closed, flaps for the pockets added (making the pockets look higher on the jacket, epaulettes added. Total cost for alterations from the tailor $90.
Alan, Ok to use on your site.

Dave, Excellent job there. My wife does window coverings but will not attempt that. I would do a kilt but convert a jacket? Too much for me. Once again, GREAT JOB

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice but in practice there is.

I use the same tailor as Panache. He does a fairly good job. I will bring both jackest to beer night and you can take all the pics you want Alan.

Tweed jacket
Hi all,
That's giving me ideas to modify my tweed jacket into an Argyle one.
I will keep you in touch with this one.
