    Critique?

You have a good sense of style and you do not look out of place. One point worth mentioning however - Highland hose (as worn with kilts) are not soccer sock! Perhaps you should fold them down a tad so that you can get three finger widths from the hose top to the knuckle of the tibial plateau at the side of the knee (that's the bump that you can feel on the outside of your knee), which is an old army rule. I can't help feeling this will improve the appearance of the whole outfit. Enjoy the experience!

I think it looks great, though I can see where it is a little wide at the waist, but never-the-less it looks damn good. I want one!

    thanks for the input guys!

AS for the alterations, I'm going to have a tailor who works at a men's formal clothing store. Most tailors around here that I have used cut corners.

I'll also try the lower sock bit, as My sister-in-law's wedding is this weekend and I'll be wearing the same outfit again.

    thanks a ton everyone!

I think it looks sharp! I second (third?) the black socks with saffron flashes suggestion. Just a strange thought....what about a saffron bow tie?

I don't know anything about formal rules, but I'm with PS on this. I would roll down the socks to the point where the swell of the calf is beginning to recede - kinda' like a collar sitting around and on top of, the widest point of the leg.

Just a touch more fitted in the waist would be perfect. Shoot a pic when it's done. O'Neille

I'd wear the belt with the PC - unless also wearing a waistcoat.

The belt buckle does odd things to the front of the waistcoast, so...

No belt with a waistcoat. Otherwise, belt.

With a waistcoat the belt is pretty much obscured anyway so would be superflous unless the kilt is too big and the belt is needed to hold it up!

Can I ask what color that kilt is? It's difficult to tell from my monitor. It sort of looks brownish-orange but I'm also wondering what the color is called?
