I'm going to a costume party this weekend. I'll wear a toga. Is it a costume? Yes. Does it involve the self-inflicted cruelty of trousers? No. So it passes both tests.
It's a good toga, too, with a fur cape and everything. Rather than sandals, I'll wear my steel-toe boots with it.

We have a party to attend this weekend as well. Thought about doing the full-blown 1745 Jacobite thing, but I'll probably go as as 1700's seafaring man instead, and deny all night that I'm a pirate. Like you fellas, I'll probably just raid my closet (actually, my flat drawer) and go in full kimono goodness as a geisha.

Halloween ideas
"Kilts are not costumes, but costumes can have kilts" Well put.
I have a couple of Jakobite shirts Which fall into the Costume Catagory.
Who has ideas on accessorising my kilt and Jakobite, to be a good Costume?
I am at a loss as to what would be appropriate. Any ideas welcome.

Halloween...
I'm going to our annual St. Andrew's Society Halloween party and bonfire as Golly Mackenzie, in his "ghillie" outfit: shooting trousers, wax jacket and bonnet!
Very appropriate, since I'll be telling ghost stories -- perhaps I'll tell the tale of Red Bonnet and the large Pike!
Cheers,
Todd

I just had a wicked idea! If I mix my kimono attire with my kilt gear, I think I could pass for a kilted samurai!!

I'm wearing a kilt as part of my costume at a Halloween party. The theme is "A Song", so the costume has to have something to do with a song. I'll leave it up to you which song I'm going for
