Thanks, guys! go to it, and sew like MadMen!
Michael, the only change I'd make for a woman is to tell her to reverse the direction of the thing so that it opens on the other side. That, and to realize that the tapers on the pleats are going to be a LOT, because of her structure versus ours.
On a womans X-Skirt I'd leave off the cargo pockets, and adjust the length to suit her preferences. Set her up with a nice belt and belt bag or hip purse and she's stylin'.

FINAL VERSION OF THE MANUAL NOW AVAILABLE
http://www.geocities.com/alanhsails/X-Kilt_final2.pdf
That's it, folks...the project is now finished, except for you making your kilts!
My thanks to all the guys who've made X-Kilts and showed us pics. Special thanks to Tartan Hiker who had made a PILE of 'em, and contributed his insights on how to make them quickly and easily. Those insights are now Appendix 3 in the manual.

I just tried it, and it worked for me....
I went and visited the site manager window and this is what it said...

The X-Kilt pdf file is about 1.3 megabytes. I have some music files up at Geocities as well, and they are between 1.3 - 1.8 megabytes. So if someone listens to one of those music files, browses my site and downloads the X-Kilt pdf, that will stop traffic from my site for an hour.
If all they do is download the pdf, the site can dish it up 3x in an hour. User #4 will get the "site volume temporarily exceedeed" message.
I'm entirely happy to hand the thing over to the Moderators and have X-Marks host it, if they want to. I'd move it to my other web site at my ISP, but I'm likely to close that account soon, as I don't use it very much.

I have it loud and clear, Alan, and I am currently printing it off.
Now, if you'd only be so kind as to write instructions, as explicit as these (well, they must be for so many of you to have made such a success of it), for my sewing machine, I might just be tempted to have a go during the long winter evenings ahead. As things are ........

I just downloaded it from Rays site, and it's smokin' fast...much faster than Geocities and there aren't any bandwidth limitations!
