I like the idea of crafted, handmade hose, but for my lifestyle and feet the hose would be battered and holey in a few weeks. Having said that, they could be used for very special occasions, as with a traditional kilt
On this basis I'd be inclined to get a pair for the rare celebrations I get invited to.

My response to this particular poll would add to an already off balance perspective of knitted Kilt hose pricing. The price ranges in this poll are too far below a price I would expect to see for knitted hose. Sorry, switchblade5984, I decline my turn to vote. I need a higher, more relevant pricing, and/or qualitative query.
Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?

    actually worth more

I clicked the 36-50 because there was not a higher one to click. I know they are worth more because I know the work that goes into such things. My wife cards, spins, weaves and knits. She has a loom and a sock machine. She has not made me any yet but she said that handmade kilt hose are in my future.

Agreed. $36-$50 is low for real hand knit hose. I seem to recall that Red Lioness knitted some hose recently. Also, I recall someone (was it MacSimoin?) posting some pictures of hand knit hose, and I think they cost up close to a C-note, which seems to me like a fair price.

After wearing mine yesterday at the Arizona Biltmore, you couldn't buy mine from me. A house would have to land on me to get them off. O'Neille

    My 0.02 USD worth..

I think that the starting price for hand knitted hose would be at least $80.00 USD.

If you add some higher price ranges, this may be a more relevant poll.

    Just my 0.02 USD worth.

BTW, I would go a C-note for nice ones.

Prices here for tartan and even some diced hose are over £100.

Why they can't produce some machine knitted stuff I have no idea when you see what is machine produced in other tartan items such as ties, scarves etc.

Small wonder the plain "cream hose" stuff is so prevalent!

I have a supplier which hand knits the tops and sews them to the main machine produced leg and feet part. They are plain coloured but with a variety of choices and this reduces them to around £20. Better than nothing but I baulk at the hand knitted prices when the money could be going towards another kilt!
