At least NOW I know what the heck it's called.

    Like I said way above:
It is a good unsuccessful commercial, in that I remember and enjoy the commercial but have NO IDEA what brand it is for except for a small blurb at the VERY end (which I barely even noticed, much less memorized the brand name).

is it really that unsuccessful imn that it has at least a dozen people on here talking about it and unknown numbers of others reading about it and that ison this board alone.
further it has you thinking about it which means it registered in your brain somewhere and stuck enough for you to be curious about it...

    sounds very unsuccessful to me....

I meant for the "casual" viewer and in advertising terms. Bud commercials are BOTH memorable and have good name placement. Petsmart (I think) had a good commercial with the hand puppet, but few could remember what it was for. The same with this one. I had to go to a forum and SEEK the brand, because all I could remember was "Drum????"

THAT is what I meant. It was intended to bring the brand to public awareness and failed to have me (a Scot fanatic and Scotch drinker) even rememder the brand. It does not provide good BRAND recognition, only commercial recognition.

For contast: a bad successful commercial:
"HEAD ON, apply directly to the forehead" repeat a dozen times.
It is not well done, but is successful in providing brand recognition.

Have I got the idea across, or do I need to continue?

Perhaps I missed it. Is there a link to the actual commercial being discussed somewhere?

    Best regards,

    Jake
