But I know what you mean!! I'm digging around trying to find my MacGregor muffler
I just wish I had a 16 oz kilt. I've only got lightweights!

I've got a MATT NEWSOME 4yard Box Pleat

    http://kilts.albanach.org/

in one of House of Edgar's Regimental Weight (18oz) Tartans

    http://www.houseofedgar.com/acatalog/Tartans.html

that I wore all winter long, at work and home.

    Doubleplusgood!

If you cant afford 8yds of 16oz, consider that HoE's 18oz tartans are doublewide so your cost is 2yds+Matt's labor+shipping!

In the Buffalo area we got our first snowfall two weeks ago (you might have seen it on the news  ) - wore my self-made 10 oz cotton duck.
A week later I was down in northwest Pennsylvania - the temperatures that day went from 28-55º F (-2 to 13º C). I wore my hemp RKilt, and was comfortable the whole day.
I will be be bringing wool back into the rotation shortly, though.

You might have noticed on the news last Thursday that Colorado and a bit of snow. It was coming down horizontally Ended up with somewhere between 12 and 48 inches....depending on where you were standing. No, I did NOT wear the kilt in that wind. That was our 3rd snow of the year and we had a little coming down this morning.

"First frost just now? Wow, here in Wisconsin we had snow 3 weeks ago!"
-Beloit... it's Wisconsin man, I remember that it wasn't unusual to see -25F on the thermometers when I lived in Milwaukee... this was in city of course. When we'd go up to Devil's Lake, there'd be a combo of people ice fishing, and ice racing (their cars) out there! Those were fun winters though.

We got out first frost here in WA Sunday night...and it has been freezing at night since... crisp, mostly dry. It was 29F last night around 9:30pm here... which means the temp dropped some more. Heh... I am glad that I've got my WPG!! I haven't cold tested my SWK heavy yet... though I might just do that later this week.

    Woot for winter weather!

I believe it has something to do with the rim of the frozen Margaritha glass in your part of the world...

In my part of the world it is something I'll have to clear from my driveway as soon as I get home from work today
