We all knew (or a bunch of us did) that the Leatherneck was coming to SWK. I'm anticipating the other tartans for next year

That is absolutely amazing! And what a patriotic and cool thing to do.

What clues are there that more tartans are coming to SWK next year? I love SWKilts ...

As far as I know (and I am a huge SWK fan and check the site often) there hasn't been any mention so far. When my wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas I had a one word answer "Stillwater". I'm hoping for indication of what's coming up before the F-H.C.A.G. goes shopping. Jerry, a clever man? A secretive man? Or just an evil man (keeping us on the edge of our seats)?
    Stay tuned ...

    Cheers

My guess is that Jerry doesn't list anything until he has it in hand...right there ready to ship. I'm as anxious as anyone to see what's in store. I'm thinking that the Stillwater Workshop must be finishing up a big run of kilts and that they have to be shipped in to Stillwater Central. When they do arrive and they show up on the website there'll be a big rush of orders...especially on these Leatherneck Tartans...and the preternaturally fast Stillwater Shipping Department will be put to the test. So this is some sort of reverse-jones...we haven't even ordered yet and we're already getting antsy.

    Hey Hachiman,

Don't think anyone would question you wearing the Leatherneck tartan out of respect for some of the men who saved you the chore of learning to speak Japanese.

Ya know there is a thread here asking what (if any) branch of military service X-Markers served in http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=21188 . We have 3 times the number of Army as Marine (and just over 2 times the number of Navy). Where's the US Army Tartan in a special run box pleat, huh? Not doing the market research.

Tell you what....if you've seen the Leatherneck tartan in a hand sewn its HARD to think of anything else. I've seen the Leatherneck tartan in a SportKilt and its colors are much brighter than the beautiful subtle colors of wool.

I'm one of the guys SWK doesn't cut lengths for so was looking to the special order through USA Kilts. If this SWK deal undercuts the USA plans will probably just back off or save for a hand sewn.

After all...was only an E-1...hardly anything to strut about.
