Ps
As an FYI and an excellent resource (to whom it may concern) for the more traditional kilt style, I cut my teeth on "So You're Going to Wear the Kilt" by J. Charles Thompson. And I must comment that the first kilt I wore was a rental for a Fraternity formal, and about the first thing the rental agent said was not to wear the pleates in the front!

If you've got chicken legs, wear piper hose, or something other than this:
Man, you gotta have the legs to wear these puppies, and this guy just ain't got the goods.
The shoes aren't helping either.
Just one man's opinion.

Those shoes look like something the girls wore when I was in elementary school in the 60s.

Hmm...I know several fellows in the St. Louis St. Andrew's Society who wear this style of shoes you wouldn't say that to!
I think the chap in the picture with the diced hose looks fine -- I love to see it when gents wear diced or tartan hose, "chicken legs" or no!

Last time I saw appendages like that, they were poking-out from under a house in Munchkin City.

Those 'girl shoes' as they have been refered to are the proper shoes to wear with those diced hose and with the kilt. I would imagine that you who think they look like girl shoes must have no problem with those uninformed folks trying to insult us who make insulting remarks about kilts looking like shirts.
