I always get asked if I'm Irish  and have also been asked on occassion if I was German or Dutch*

The kilt, they know it's from ...somewhere

    Cheers

    * which was kind of weird because I do do have Dutch, Dane, and German in my heritage

I've been asked once if I was presbyterian.

I've also been asked if my BLACK original Utilikilt was my family's tartan...

    someone explain that to me.

I read somewhere that plain black was the traditional kilt of Cornwall, so while black is not tartan (unless it's Dark Isle) maybe the comment is not so far off

On the weekend my wife and I stayed at a romantic heritage hotel. As we were being shown up to our room the owner asked if I was "performing tonight". I was about to tell her our sex life was not her concern when my wife got in first and said - he always wears a kilt, it's normal clothing for him.

Just as well she was quick to reply

I get that sometimes while wearing my Henderson kilt... which is predominantly green. I guess there's grounds for confusion.

I get the same thing in my Henderson kilt.

But, then I wear my Ireland's National and get asked "are you from GERMANY?" bahahahahahahahaha.
