I agree RR (wish I understood some of the references), but the whole 3+ minutes was worth the following section:

    Land of kilts and sporrans
    And nothing worran
    Wish the wind was warammm!

    Classic!

    Scotland The Brave (Comic Version)

    Land o' the purple heather
    Land o' the dirty weather
    Land where the midges gaither
    Scotland The Brave.

    Land o' the Pakistanis
    Andy Capp and Saturday's Sannies
Land where they sell their grannies
    Scotland The Brave.

Used to say in Faithers day
You could hear the bagpipes play
But now you hear the regal tones
O' Elton John and the Rolling Stones

Land that is full of stinkers
Wee fat jews and VP drinkers
Whisky put a lot o' stinkers
    Into Scottish graves

Land that is full o' skivvers
    Comic Singers, deep sea divers
Turbans on our bus con drivers
    Scotland The Brave

    Land o' the brutal bobbies
Councillers wi' part-time jobbies ("Aye, if the shoe fits, wear it!" verbal by Roy)
    Architects wi' paying hobbies
    Scotland The Brave

The tourists come here every year to see all our historic gear
But all they see is loads o' navvies
High rise flats wi' concrete lavvies

    Land o' the "Artic" lorries,
    Andy Stewart, and ra Corries
    Land where everybody borries
    Scotland The Brave

Land o' the Kilt and Sporran
    Underneath there,s nothing worn!
How I wish the wind was warm!
    Scotland The Brave

I must admit it,s pretty gruesome
Walking around with a frozen twosome!
It,s all we,ve got we mus,nt lose them!
    Scotland The Brave

    Conservatives try to assure us
Labour,s hard put to endure us
The kirk puts curbs on our enjoyment
    Government makes unemployment!

Never mind, the day is near
    When independence will be here
We'll drink a toast in Youngers Beer
    To Scotland The Brave!.

Culled from here. I hope no one finds it offensive.

Graham, trust me, spending just two minutes with Ronnie Browne would change your mind about your visit to Scotland. He has a tremendous heart for Scotland and her people. Don't make the mistake of judging Ronnie by a single parody song, wait until you've seen the fire burning in his eyes as he plays a proper rendition of Scotland the Brave.

Yes, a date on that video would be interesting.

Here is a shot of Ronnie and a pal of mine, taken at the Wallace Homecoming in Lanark, September 2005.

As you can see. a bit of an 'aging process' has been taking place.

    A bit like Borat...

...I don't think you could get away with references to Jews, Pakistanis, or any other ethnic groups like that any more. The Scottish Parliament is trying to attract more people to come to Scotland, because the population has been declining for a long time. Where are they going to get them if they confine themselves to white/caucasian celtic christians (preferably presbyterian?).

Borat did a hatchet job on the USA in his latest film and they didn't realise that the mickey was being taken out of them. This song is just embarrassing.

    Hi Niblox,
well, it was a long time ago when the song was done. I think back to the way the world was and find the song amusing. If a modern day singer had sung it I wouldn't like it. A similar thing happened to a south african singer who had a big hit with a song about his childhood (this was in the seventies). He referred to a sweet candy which the kids used to call 'n*****balls'. Just after he had the hit the whole feeling about south africa changed and he had to stop doing the song....Probably a good thing :-)
I daresay the Cories wouldn't do their song today either.

Roy Williamson passed away, some 15-16 years ago, so that would be one heckuva reunion tour.
