Correct. I could, and sometimes do, wear a cheap acrylic or polycotton kilt around the house or for going to the supermarket for the week's groceries, but I was referring to the fact that there are fewer occasions to dress up in a proper wool kilt during the winter months. There are as others have said, a few such events such as Christmas Dinner and Burns Supper, and Ann and I are planning to spend a week in Edinburgh in February where I would expect to be kilted all week.
