Kilted Hunting

I've been deer hunting with my muzzleloader since last Saturday (Nov 4). I haven't worn my kilt, because, since I,m hunting from tree stands, i wear a safety harness. It would make wearing the kilt uncomfortable because the harness straps around the waist, chest, and around each thigh.

That makes sense. I always disliked being up in a tree stand (which attitude has probably contributed to my lousy success rate!). I prefer a comfortable seat on the ground, and wrapping up in a great kilt will add to the comfort factor. Plus (like the historic highlanders of old), I can flip a corner of the plaid over the gun lock to protect it from the elements....

I gave up on hunting the second year I ever went because the only thing I ever came back with was chickenpox.

I suppose if I were to take it up again, I would certainly try it kilted.

I've hunted solely with muzzleloaders since 1992. Only used flintlocks since 2000. Haven't hunted kilted though once I get back to the states I may give it a whirl. I hunt strickly from the ground also and have had pretty good success year to year. Take care in the woods.
