I tuned properly, the pipes can sound simply amazing...
if not they sound amazingly awful.
...flatulant orthoptera notwithstanding.

Belching Blattodea.
You have to admit, though, comparing it to the playing of the bagpipe does sound more impressive than, say -
"The Madagascar Hissing Cockroach - Whoppee Cushion of the Insect World".
Of course, I remember the episode of "Nature" where David Attenborough compared troops of lemurs challenging each other to British football fans.
