Rab, my Skian is awaiting a decent forge of my making...been a bit a bit busy for it of late sadly.
How'd you go rivetting the brass? I hate brass for that! Always crumbles, but then I expect to much of it I think. I approach it as I do copper and silver. I think the silver would be a handsome addition to your blades btw. Easy to work and not too expensive. As you may know fine silver will roll over much easier than stirling. But after brass you'll have no worries! Unfortunately most suppliers don't seem to do wire in fine, but things may different in your part of the world.

Hi Erin,
I just make the stud and hole a nice snug fit and glue into place, I would worry about putting stresses into the materials which could cause a crack if I riveted in place.
Regards,
Rab

Yeah that's fair enough Rab, but I'm a big fan of the countersunk rivet in anything I can get my hands on. Brides-to-be hate that....
Alternatively an almost full tang, but hidden, could be rivetted across the pommel and thru the tang as a locking mechanism. Not a new idea I know but I may give it a go sometime.
