BTW, I'm bringing cock 'o leekie soup for 20 AND I will bravely consent to attempt to cook a haggis. This is on top of swearing that I'm going to have my X-Marks kilt done by the 20th. Oyyy...

    Alan,

What recipe are you using? I vaguely remember Alton Brown mentioning a Haggis recipe on "Good Eats", I found it on the Food Network site

    Here you go:

    Also, didn't P1M post a recipe somewhere?

    Cheers

I'm going to make the soup at least once beforehand for practice, only not for 20, ya know? As for the haggis, I've been snooping recipes and they're all similar enough. Maybe I'll bring haggis to the December Beer night.

Madalyn needs checks and information on what you're going to bring food-wise! PM me for Madalyns snail-mail, OR bring a check to the Kilt Night on the 15th at Devils Canyon.

Here's her information on local hotels that are close to the Hall:

    **************************************

All these hotels are a 2-3 block walk away from the American Legion Hall. Or maybe someone who isn't drinking (not bloody likely) could drive them over. I checked the minimum prices for a double room without an ocean view. All these hotels are within 1/2 block of the beach and Nick's Restaurant for Sunday morning brunch (which I recommend). Check their webpages as sometimes the rates will be less, particularly within the 30 days before the 20th of January.

    Pacifica Motor Inn $65-75 200 Rockaway Beach Ave (650) 359-7700 www.pacificamotorinn.com

    Holiday Inn Express $117-122 519 Nick Gust Way (650) 355-3000 www.hiepacifica.com

    Best Western Lighthouse $179 105 Rockaway Beach Ave (650) 355-6300 www.bestwesternlighthouse.com

The F-H.C.A.G and I are in. We will mail a check Friday morning.

Show of X Marker hands folks.

    Who else will be there?

    equally important

Who wants to bring scotch? (This is important so we can make sure we all bring something different)

    Cheers

    Holding up three hands.....(?)

The Significant Other, the Little Celtic Dancer and myself will be there.

I will bring Alan a check to Kilt Night.

BTW- What do we still need as far as food is concerned? Alan?

I'm bringing the garlic mashed potatoes, and hopefully my wife. If she can't make it I'll bring a friend.

    Best regards,
