Currently checking out The Essential Lenny Bruce by John Cohen. What an amazing confronting cheeky bugger he was! And Genius at that.
On the philosophical path, have you read any of Richard Bach's writings ? I was given 'Jonathan Livingston Seagull' when I was still in school and have read a few of his other books over the years.

I do enjoy some Terry Pratchett or Douglas Adams for some light hearted relief while still being quite philosophically thought provoking between the lines if you're in the mood....

For fun reading I like Spider Robinsons' Callahans' Saloon stories. Lots of puns and good humor.

Yeah read some Richard Bach around the same time, which kinda led me on to Herman Hesse. Firstly Siddhartha then onto pretty much his whole catalogue! I can easily say I got the most out of Narciss and Goldmund out of all of them. I'd recomend that book to anyone after a good thought/soul provoking read.

    A quick top few:
    Catch 22
The Tasmanianian Babes Fiasco by John Birmingham, hilarious Oz author, one for Graham.
    The Diceman by Luke Reinhart
    Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino

I'd bought the first 2 last season before going up north for deer season, polished them off in a day each while I was up there. Decided to finally get the last 3 this year, so I have the complete set and am now 3/4 of the way through book 5 "Chaos Curse".
Great series by a great author.

One of my resolutions this year is a career change.

I have three different books going at this time....

Birdmen, Batmen, and Skyflyers: Wingsuits and the Pioneers Who Flew in Them, Fell in Them, and Perfected Them by Michael Abrams

Biblical Eldership: An Urgent Call to Restore Biblical Church Leadership

Six Easy Pieces, Six Not-So-Easy Pieces by Richard Phillips Feynman and Richard P. Feynman

    Hows that for a mix?

I'm rather fond of "Illusions," myself.

    Studying for Jeopardy

Boy, do we have some highbrow members!! I am currently reading a wonderous tome which I received for Christmas. "Uncle John's Bathroom Reader, 19th edition". A superb 500 page collection of trivia that one should not be without.
