Hamish,
I fully agree with Al G; you do look great in a hat and with your beard.

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice but in practice there is.

That's right; I'm not addicted. I can quit whenever I want to. In fact, I did so about five times yesterday.

Well, it probably does Mike, but no matter; 'They' still will not know whether I am logged-in or not, even if you do!
I had forgotten that I am an invisible "Secret Agent", as MacToJ puts it. Originally, I selected that mode because I was getting too many PMs coming in whilst I was trying to do other things (I mean no offence to anyone and everyone, but it really was preventing me from getting on. I still love getting PMs and E-mails which I am delighted to be able to respond to in my own time, and at my own pace. So, thanks guys, and keep 'em coming but do not expect immediate replies!!

I'll try to be brief as this is taking the thread off topic, but I just wanted to say "Thank you" to Al, Bob and everyone who has offered similar compliments elsewhere, regarding the 'new' me as seen in my avatar.
Firstly, I am (trying) growing a beard on the advice of my Doctor as I was developing a severe shaving rash (55 years of face-scraping was taking its toll). Everyone around me tells me that it suits me, but I have my own thoughts on that - for one thing, it ages me by at least ten years and, at my age, I can ill afford that!
The Balmoral? Well, I saw it on the Glengarry Hats website and liked the colour - and the price - and thought to give it a try. The surprise result is that I do actually like it, in spite of my life-long aversion to hats, but I am convinced that it is the combination of bonnet with beard that does the trick. If I shaved off the beard, the bonnet would not work - on me!
OK, back to the topic now .........................

I must respectfully disagree with you on that point, Ham. From that particular picture if I had to guess your age I would have said somewhere between 55 & 65. I don't think it makes you look older at all. It just seems to "work" perfectly for you.

Al, you are just too kind (flattery will get you everywhere!). I do realise, of course, that we do not see ourselves as others see us, but it is what I see in the mirror that worries me. Anyway, I am having a haircut in the morning, and will seek my hairdresser's advice on a good beard trimmer. It's the Rex Tremende 'look' I am after!
Now - that's enough about me (for this thread)!
