Funerals are depressing affairs, but the only certainty in life is death and the taxman.
I think that the funeral of someone who dies aged 70+ is something that shouldn't be miserable - our allotted span is "threescore and ten" - who would want to live to be 200 years old?? It should be a celebration of their life, the good things they did, and at actors' funerals, and in Italy, the congregation applauds. I approve!
I hope there will be Scottish Country Dancing at mine - if they can muster a set of eight who are fit enough, that is!!!
