Upstate SC
These were taken during a recent gathering of friends I've met on line.
This first set is of the Reedy River at Falls Park in Downtown Greenville.
This one was taken from the suspension bridge overtop the falls.
This is me and one of my best friends with a small section of the River behind us.
This is part of the lower falls and a section of the park few bother to go to. I think its well worth the short walk.
These two were taken at Table Rock State Park. Absolutely breathtaking... The pictures do not do it justice.
This was taken from ontop of Cesar's Head.

Beautiful pix Kat. The Appalachians have a special kind of beauty.

Great pics! I always love going down the "Highway 11 corridor" for a nice day hike - Ceasar's Head is one of my favorite areas. Unfortunately I'm in Greenville so often that I take the Reedy River for granted and forget how pretty it actually is. I'm glad you got a shot of the falls with people in it - it really shows the scale of that section of the river - hard to believe that it runs right through the middle of a fairly large metropolitan downtown, huh?

Some of the rivers in this area have tubing but not all. Most folks go a bit farther north into the mountains to tube. They have really cleaned up the Reedy in the past ten years. Falls Park, which is right in the middle of downtown, once resembled more of a landfill than the tranquil park it is today. One of the main reasons I love living in the upstate, I'm a half hour from the Ga line, 45 minutes from NC, and just a few hours from the coast. Mountain hiking is a favorite past time for my family. There are so many beautiful places to visit here and yet its not a tourist area. I'm looking forward to Grandfather Mountain this year. I haven't had a chance to go and fully intend to enjoy the beauty of the site.

You've made me homsick. I grew up in Greenville and have hiked Table Rock and Ceasar's Head more often than I can count. VERY glad to see the pictures of Falls Park. When I moved from Greenville in 1980 (still go back to see relatives though) what is now Falls Park was NOT a place you wanted to spend too much time in.
Thanks for the pictures.
