I have three mockers, the kind without the waist snaps, wear them a lot. Never noticed extra butt on them. Wear them to work a lot...sort of Scottish Dockers.

Pics in my gallery if ya wanna or haven't already.

Your belt line (where most men wear their belts: across the top of the hip bones and below the belly button) is going to have a smaller dimension than your hip line. The hip line is defined as the widest part of the hips. On men, this is generally at the crown of the butt. (Stand sideways to a mirror, and the part sticking the furthest out behind you is the crown of your butt, and where your hips should be measured.)

If you snap the six front snaps of your Utilikilt, but not the waist snaps, it is like putting on your jeans and not zipping/buttoning them up.... they will fall off.

Utilikilts are tapered from the belt line to the hip line to accomodate the width of your hips. When standing up and admiring your kilted self in the mirror, your hips are one dimension.

HOWEVER, as soon as you sit down, your hips spread a little wider, and your *** widens out as your body's weight flattens it.

Therefore, your hips get WIDER when you sit down. If your kilt is not big enough, then you are putting more stress on the side seams and center back seam of the kilt. This will shorten the life of the garment. (Not to mention that - when standing - you will get horizontal "draw lines" or wrinkles radiating horizontally from the snaps if the kilt is too small.)

We have been doing this for more than 7 years now, and sizing is something we are particularly good at. We have to be. On the other hand, a new customer has a LOT to get used to, and the "loose" feeling of a properly fitted kilt is just one of those things that feels odd at first, but perfectly normal after a week of wear.

I do not mean to dimish Rex's point, or to say he is wrong. All I want to do is clarify the reasons why we size people the way we do. Your personal preference may mean you are comfortable in a larger size, smaller size, longer length, shorter length, or whatever. Our suggestions for sizing and length are defined by our knowledge of the construction, wear patterns, and utility of the garment. But you are welcome to edit any of those variables to fit your personal preference.

I just want to make sure that people understand that we are sizing you so you get the best function from your Utilikilt, and we do not take this lightly. For us, Form Follows Function.

    I hope this info helps!

Umm, CJ, my three mockers don't have waist snaps, including the one I bought from you....they don't fall off. Thought the waist snaps were new the last month or so....?

When I wear my (floating waistband) mocker I often get comments about my large hips/rear... I don't get those comments in other garments. That having been said, I really enjoy my mocker, and get more positive comments than negative - it would be a good idea to try one on before buying, especially since the closure system has changed.

I have a pile of mockers from 37-39 waist, all colors. I love the way they fit. If i snap all the snaps and don't wear a belt they fall off. I have only enough butt to show a break between my legs and my back. The same with pants(what the heck are pants). Back to the point, the mocker makes me look like I have a butt, even if I don't. Value added for me!!! I love mockers.
