Boston Kilt Night
Anyone interested in a pre-Portsmouth kilt night in Boston? My wife is away so I will have a little evening time available. I was thinking 12/8, or 12/9.
Last time we had kilt night we when to John Harvards Brew house in Harvard square, which is an excellent place to be kilted. The square has another pub, Shays, that I think would be a great place for kilties.
On the other side of town Jamaica Plain has a couple of great pubs. Doyles has New Englands largest selection of single malt scotch and a good menu. James gate is another. This place has a great atmosphere, with a big fireplace, and a great menu as well. Further up the street is The Brendan Behan Pub, which is a lively spot.
Downtown, the Quincy market/Union street area has a bunch of pubs. I've never been to any of them but they look fun. The only draw back I can think of is that they might get really crowded and noisy.
Anyway, that's what I've been thinking. Give me some feed back, and let's see if we can't get a little something going.

Gents, you can count me IN!
I have a few Christmas party digs going on, but they are afternoon affairs I believe. the 8th would be best for me.

Rich- Glad to hear you're IN. Andrew- glad you're back safely. Please try to free up the night. We'd love to hear stories of your PCT adventure. The 8th it is. The 8th works better for me too. Any idea as to a venue? I like the idea of going some place in JP, maybe James Gate, but mostly because JP is close to home for me. Harvard Square is a good place to be kilted too. Let me know what you think.
Any other takers? I know there are a few other Metro-Boston area kilties.

Unfortunately I'm working next weekend. Pretty much weekends are out for me because of my work schedule. Perhaps some other time.

Boston Kilt night
I will meet anywhere. James gate is a fine location.
Andrew are you working at a bar?
If so we could meet there and give you kilted business.

Okay!! Glad to see another will be joining us. I guess it's time to make a decision as to where and when. I think the atmosphere at James gate would be perfect so,....Friday, James Gate on McBride St. J.P., 8:30. See ya there. I'll be the guy in the kilt.

I'm In For sure.
See you all at James Gate in JP.
I was at a bar on Beacon St. in Boston on Friday called The Public House. it is just up the road from Cleveland Circle, toward downtown.
There selection of Beer was UNBELEVEABLE! the food was great to.
The decor reminded me of James Gate fireplace etc.
This would be an excellent choice for a future kilt night too.

I love the Publick House. Too bad their beer selection isn't as good as the one at Sunset, where I work (110+ taps, 400+ bottles). ;) The atmosphere is better at Publick House, though.
Andrew.
