How to explain why you wear a kilt.

I don't remember who it was, but someone here posted an explanation that I love: "I needed a new look to go along with my mid-life crisis. It was either kilts or baggy jeans pulled down with my butt hanging out. I think I made the right choice."

Lately I've just been telling people I know that it's just another one of my many idiosyncrasies. That they accept this so quickly seems like it ought to be a little alarming to me.

My usual response to the "why are you wearing a kilt" question is: It sets me apart from lesser men.

After a few pints I'll look em square in the eye and say, "Because zippers frighten sheep."
