    First Attempt: COMPLETE

Finished my first attempt at a hand sewn traditional kilt last night. What a long day it was. Started around 11:00am. Pulled out the last basting stich right around 12:30am. Some breaks inbetween, but the day was devoted to getting this puppy finished. What do you thing?

Biggest issue right now is that the left front apron edge what to curl up. I'm hoping a good pressing will help that (yes? no?). Otherwise, I am happy with it. Hopefully no one will look at it up close and see all the mistakes, but for my first time I really can't complain. Hopefully the next one won't take four months.

I'd have sworn I posted this before, but it's not here:

The kilt looks great! It's not uncommon for the front pleat to kick forward.

Where did you get that great shirt? I can't quite make out the website address. I want to get one.

Great Job! Now that I've knocked out a bunch of X-kilts I'm looking forward to trying my hand at a trad kilt. Thanks for the inspiration.

Looks great! I don't think I will ever have the patience to try, myself.

    Great t-shirt, too!

Very nice job, KT. If I wasn't a lefty I'd be tempted to try a hand-sewn, but I think machine-sewn is gonna be my limit.
