You've got it nailed now. I do agree with Chef and Alan about the smaller buttons. 9 big buttons together just looks a bit too .... buttony.

It must be the glare off the buttons. The vest buttons are the same as the smaller ones on the epaulettes and cuffs (just under 3/4 of an inch) while the rest of the jacket buttons are about an inch.)

I went out and picked up a new larger black satin bow tie (for a whopping $8) which matches the vest perfectly.

When the F-H.C.A.G. gets the vest sewn up I'll post a final picture.
