KT,
The kilt looks great. Wonderful pleats! If that is your first attempt I shudder to think how gorgeous your second one will be.

Sensational KT! I aspire to such a feat with my first kilt. This is yet to be seen  and you've raised the bar somewhat, well done.
Someday I will oh yes.... I will.

That looks incredible KT! Nice job. Was this your first time making a kilt at all? Or just the first time making a traditional hand-sewn?
I'd like to do this one day .. but I think I'm going to give an x-kilt or 2 a try first. How long did it take you?

This was my first kilt, period. Also, prior to this, the only sewing I'd ever done was in Home Economics in middle school, and the occasional button!
I worked on the kilt on and off for about 3 months. A few hours here and there on weekends mostly. I don't even want to think about the amount of hours. But there was a lot of going back to Barb's book, back to the kilt, back to the book, etc. I have a feeling the next one may be a little faster.
That reminds me, someone earlier in the thread asked what I used to guide me through the process. It was Barb's book The Art of Kiltmaking.
