I don't know if Buzz lurks on this forum or not, but I wish BK made a sporran that is a cross between the Rob Roy and the Celtic Knot sporrans so you could get a simple, non-ribbed sporran without the pewter medallion on the flap. I emailed them to see if this was an option before I bought my brown one but never heard back from them, so I expect that customization is not an option. I do think it would sell like crazy though.
This would allow the customer to have a "blank slate" to customize the sporran to his preference or have a nice looking functional sporran as is.
Namely, a Rob Roy top (plain) and Country/Knot bottom (plain)?
No medalion, no tassels, no ribs?

Exactly. A plain, sporran made of great quality, flexible leather. It probably wouldn't cut the price much but it would open up so many more options for mix-n-match.
That is a good idea, and I would probably buy one of those. I like the plain front, but wouldn't mind a plain flap as well so I could add a crest, or whatever to personalize the sporran.
