anither wee bit o' malt advice...
Malt is usually bottled under the name o the distillery (by the distillery...)
but no always...
sometimes malt whisky is bottled under anither name... (an' the bottler is no allowed tae use the real name o' the distillery)
sometimes they name the whisky some name o' a nearby area or town in order tae "hint" tae folk as tae which whisky it really is...
a recent yin ai wuz asked aboot is a malt named... "Coulnacraggan"...
"Coulnacraggan" is no a distillery... but it is a town on the Isle of Skye... ai assume the bottlers arr "hinting" that this is Talisker... which is made ainly a few miles awa' frae Coulnacraggan...
if it is Talisker... an it is a guid price- buy it oop!
but it may no be...
look fur a few things afore ya buy...
1- see if you can get the name o' the distillery it came frae...
2- see if it is actually Single Malt Scotch Whisky... no just Scotch Whisky... no Vatted Malt... no Pure Malt... no Blended Malt...no WhiskEy...

Yesterday I decided to buy some liquor to have in the house for guests. We rarely drink ourselves so we've never really had anything on hand.
One of the items I bought was some 12-y/o Glenlivet. Karen and I decided to try some last night as neither of us have ever tried any form of Scotch before. Well, I hate to admit this, but we cannot drink the stuff! I used P1M's "guidelines" from this thread, right down to the tulip glasses. Just didn't work for us.
Oh well, more for our guests! We'll stick to Baileys.
