Sweatshirts and Hoodies with Casual Kilts

Was ordering some stuff from Soldier City www.soldiercity.com and checked out their hooded sweatshirts. (just click on shirts)

I've always felt that hooded sweatshirts and even sweatshirts go well with casual kilts - either plain or tartan - and that they're great for hiking.

They have all the U.S. Services in many options. Here's a cool Navy one.

I bought this one myself for hiking the canyonlands,

Here's one I wanted but they were out of my size. Which reminds me, they show their inventory so you don't get sucked into buying something they don't have and waiting forever for it to be delivered.

I liked this Coast Guard hoodie too...believe it or not we have a Coast Guard Auxillary presence in the canyonlands on Lake Powell.

Point is, this outfit has some cool sweats and hoodies that would go well with kilts for casual wear and hiking. If the pics don't come up for you just hit the website.

I've done business with them a number of times before and have received fast service and a positive attitude.

I REALLY like the inventory check. Wish more folks in the kilt accessories industry had that feature...

    Ron,
Thanks for the link...I wear hoodies when I'm casual kilting very often! I really like that Navy one (headed to Navy OCS soon!), maybe I'll pick it up. Thanks again!

Thank you for the link as well. It has been bookmarked for future use. I have lost a number of memorabilia items from my time in the service. This is a good way to replace some of them.

Yes, I sometimes wear one of these with a casual kilt; it's a bluey/grey colour, bought originally from a local sports shop.

I picked up a black hoodie at the Canmore HG back in September. On the front is a picture of some bagpipes, with the caption: "Bagpipes...putting the FUN back in funerals".

I just got a black hoodie from my favorite pub to wear in Scotland next week...I didn't have nearly enough black clothing for a trip to Europe.

I told them I'd get a pic of myself in hoodie and kilt at the entrance to Edinburgh castle. They promised to display it proudly, but I couldn't wrangle a discount on the hoodie.
Obviously I'll be posting said photo right here as well.

    Hey cousin,

Hopefully, a great photo, enlarged in a nice frame, will reel you in a few freebies on the return side of the journey.

A former Coast Guard guy once told me that the Coast Guard is "On any navigable body of water..." I found that very interesting.

I'm afraid I would not wear a 'hoodie' anywhere! Here in the UK, if you turn up at a shopping centre/mall wearing a hoodie, you'll likely be barred from entering or asked to leave immediately. Apparently hoodies are frequently worn by snatch-and-run thugs to avoid being recognised on CCTV systems and so anyone wearing one is kept away!!

Apart from that, such garments just do not suit me!!

But if I was going into a shopping mall my hood would be folded down on the back of my jacket - I only ever need the hood up if outdoors in inclement weather. Anyone shady enough to want to hide their face from CCTV with a hood wouldn't at the same time wear a conspicuous garment like a kilt.
