    Hector Russell Canada??

Hey, folks. Does anyone know what happened to Hector Russell Canada? I went to www.hector-russell.ca and was redirected to www.kiltscanada.com and got some company called Cairngorm Scottish Imports. Does anyone know if they were bought out? Does anyone know anything about this company?

I was planning on going to Hector Russell in Toronto next week and puchase an Argyll jacket.

The story I got from the fellows at their San Francisco store (now William Glen & Son) is that HR has decided to divest their interests overseas because of costs.

HR in Scotland was bought up by Edinburgh Woolen Mills. The story Linda(Manager at Drumnadrochit) told me was that they were no longer able to stock things they could not sell within 14 days.

Hector Russell in Inverness is now Highland House of Fraser.

Hector Russell in Edinburgh is still under the same name.

Depends on where they were as to whether the name changed or not.

Hector Russell has recently launched a brand new e-commerce website www.hector-russell.com. The Edinburgh Woollen Mill bought Hector Russell a couple of years ago and are working on pulling all elements of the business towards this new website. This includes addressing the issue of kiltscanada.com trading under hector-russell.ca. This will be resolved shortly.

I believe McMurdo was in there recently, still carries pretty much all the same stuff , Was in there about 4 or 5 months ago, have a pretty good selection of jackets.
I just dropped on there to confirm the sizing of a jacket I was about to order online.

I haven't dealt with them, but I did get the email the other day that they are having a huge sale on right now.

    Thumbs up

Wow, I started this one nearly a year ago. As an update I bought my Argyll at Cairngorm Scottish in Toronto when we were there over last Christmas (Hector-Russell brand) but couldn't afford the waistcoat at the time. I was able to get the matching waistcoat at Hector-Russell on Princes' Street in Edinburgh in June.

    Both were excellent shopping experiences.
