Yeah, I recall reading that Richard Todd served as a paratrooper... not an easy job!

Breaker Morant, bloody brilliant movie with a fair amount of kilts throughout the movie.

I understand completely. How many times has it been suggested that I must have begun using the name McCloed, (misspelled because the original spelling was already taken on-line), because of the movie. The ignorami can't understand the concept of "Septs" of the clans and my family name is MacClure.

"We caught them and we shot them under Rule .303!"
"How's your eyesight, sergeant?" "Terrible, Sir!"
The kilted gents in the movie were supposed to be Cameron Highlanders.
I agree; Breaker Morant is a brilliant movie and one of my top 10 favourites!
When a man hath no freedom to fight for at home,
let him combat for that of his neighbours.
Let him think of the glories of Greece and Rome,
And get knocked on the head for his labours.
Do good to mankind in the chivalrous plan, and is always nobly requited,
Then battle for freedom where'er you can...
And if not shot or hanged, you'll get knighted!
-- George Gordon, Lord Byron (a minor poet)
I won't, however, recite Handcock's poem, since this is a family forum!

I really liked Formula 51 and Braveheart, and the others mentioned. But I was watching King Ralf last night (its kind of a christmas tradition with me) and I realised that in one scene, for just a brief shot that John Goodman is actually in a kilt. I wouldnt consider it a kilted movie however.

King Ralph was on in the UK a couple of nights back and yes he does wear a kilt briefly in on of the scenes with one of those long hairy piping sporrans which I don't think that members of the royal family have sported as everyday wear since the days of Queen Victoria.

Yeah, but remember he was an American, from Vegas no less. Remember the blue sparkly tux he was wearing at the start of the movie? He liked flashy clothes. That sporran would have fit his tastes for sure lol

I have seen the movie several times and have always managed to miss the start!
However one would have thought his Palace staff would have corrected any fashion faux pas
