December Bay Area Kilt Night.. This FRIDAY!
It's time for the FINAL Kilt Night for 2006 at The Devil's Canyon Brewery in Belmont this coming Friday, December 29th!
Ok, Here we go!!! Put down the turkey left-overs and listen up! It's almost 2007 and that means it's the [drumroll please] last NorCal Xmarks Kilt Night & Beer Friday of the year!
[Cue the violins] But weep not.. oh connoisseur of tasty malted beverages, the upcoming NorCal Kilt Night is going to be a fantastic one and we have a lot of great things planned for the upcoming year. So leave New Years Eve to the kooks and amateurs, come down to Devil's Canyon and party like its 1999 (plus 8).
Here's what's going on:
$3 beers, lots of great music and cool folks, good food at reasonable prices, opening band; NOVA (formally "Rubber Room") will be rockin' it up from 6 - 8pm, followed by headliner; "The Seen Reds" from 8:30 to 10:30pm, a family-friendly atmosphere, space-heaters and comfy couches, lots of kilts!
Details, map and driving directions at http://www.kiltday.com/kiltnight.htm
SAVE THE DATE: Last Friday, Monthly - Belmont Kilt Night in SF Bay Area!
Calling all guys in kilts (traditional tartan kilts, home-made kilts, Utilikilts, any darned kilt!)... That's right, mark your calendars for the LAST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH... time for the monthly kilt mixer in Belmont! This is the OFFICIAL NorCal X-Marks Kilt Night each month... this is our 16th monthly event at this venue!
Started in September 2005, this kilt-optional event is held on the LAST Friday Monthly, from 5 pm on. Rain-or-Shine. Most of the kilt'd crew starts trickling in around 7 pm, although no doubt that Tim will be there at 5 sharp... first in line for a cold brew and checking out the opening band.
This will be an outstanding Post-Christmas/Pre-New Year's Celebration Devil's Canyon Brewery-Style with lots of cool singles, couples, families (and the occasional full-face fur sporran hating pug). A fantastic NO STRESS meet-and-greet with cool, fun loving, people in a casual, relaxing, atmosphere. And, for the Scot in you... Free Parking and No cover charge! Live music, great hot food at really decent prices, indoor and outdoor seating with cozy propane heaters and couches inside & outside! Come with plans to have fun! Bring a friend (or two)!
No-host bar. $3 (16 oz.) award-winning microbrews. Don't miss their awesome "Full Boar Scotch Ale" !!!! as well as about a 1/2 dozen other great draft selections that are all brewed on site!
Put on your kilt and come join the fun! The proprietors will be expecting us!
Devil's Canyon Brewing Company: 111 Industrial Way #7, Belmont CA 94002
WARNING: This place can be a bit tricky to find the first time, so pay attention; It is located in the north/east corner of the Harbor Business Center, right off of Harbor Blvd exit from S/B Hwy. 101, driveway just east of Industrial. It can be a bit difficult to find the first time. Just copy down the detailed directions from the link above and you'll find it! If in doubt, park in the lot and listen for the music!
They are open to the public just one night per month. They call the event "Beer Friday." Their doors open at 5 pm and things tend wrap up between 11 pm and midnight. We have no affiliation with the brewing company (we just like to bug Dan Curan), it is just a convenient location on the Peninsula and a great place to hold a casual mixer in a central location.
So who's in?

I will be there. Not sure if the Significant Other and the Little Celtic Dancer will be with me, though.
I am hoping to get my brother to attend as well (will not be kilted )

Leatherneck, by all means - I could use a picture of you modeling that tartan for a potential client.

Definitely the Leatherneck!
We'll be there after visiting Panache's tailor in San Jose again to pick up a jacket. Alan recently pointed me towards an economy kilt from Celtic Croft in Johnston (They're borderers, you know...) tartan which I'll be wearing. Hope there's still some of that stout left from last time - it's really good!
