    Scouts, kilt, and tartans

Here's an earlier thread about Scouts and tartans:

In this post is a link to the UK Scouting website regarding kilts in their uniforming:

    http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...5&postcount=17

Wood Badge adult training, worldwide, stresses the importance of uniformity in the training of young scouts by following the rules of whatever national association you are operating under. BSA's official rules regarding uniforming do not include kilts, however, at many BSA functions the MacLaren and other tartans show up as kilts. Only the most overzealous uniformity people will say anything to you about it.

A MacLaren clan organization does not have to follow BSA rules, and rather encourages their honorary Wood Badge members to kilt up and join in their clan marches.

Thanks for all the replies the answer seems to be nothing official but MacLaren is often used .
When I became a man I put away childish things, including a concern about childishness and a need to be oh so grown up.
