Glad you were able to get that done yesterday. Today would have been worse! I just finished blowing out 24 inches of snow from this storm. Looks like I'll have another 5-10 to do tomorrow morning. Good time to be living in an appartment.

Well with two blizzards in two weeks, I certainly can relate. I have used my hiking spats in snowy weather, not to "formal" but does anyone look fashionable in a snow storm?

I usually don't scrunch my kilt hose down... just looks better pulled up and cuffed over...casual or not. My opinion and tastes though, not everyones. I too am hunting for some longer, and perhaps less expensive alternatives for everyday wear... I am beating up my other hose already, I have worn them often enough (3 pair, black, khaki, and white)...I am checking into Hamilton Dry Goods at the moment, and I may check into the Football and Rugby sock alternatives in the near future.

Andrew, like you, I prefer my kilt hose (and other socks) pulled up and cuffed. Just looks better. During the winter, I tend to wear wool kilt hose 90% of the time when I'm wearing a traditional. Utilikilt, anything goes. Wore red/black striped kneesocks with my survival today. Just felt like it.

Yeah, but I'm trying to remember that this is a family friendly forum.

Anyhow, as I posted on another thread, my problem with finding anything to go over my calves is the fact that they're 22" around. I'm having to wait until Mr. Newsome gets the large calf kilt hose in at the museum shop online, and get them there. Until then, I think I'll just go ahead and wear pants when the weather gets too bad.

In the winter... Kilt hose is a must... and pulled up. It's much warmer for one thing since my skinny legs have sparse hair. They also look better on me when pulled up.

But when the weather turns extra nasty, I tend to leave the kilts in the closet. I guess I've become a bit of a cold weather wimp as of late.
