Montgomery Scot!
What tartan is this?? Is it the standard Wallace??

This is the tartan James Doohan (Scotty) off of Star Trek wore as his dress uniform apparently.

One of the ones, actually. I'm guessing this is from Star Trek: The Wrath of Kahn, but I could be wrong, I don't recognize it. He wore a different red tartan in the episode "Is There in Truth No Beauty," and that kilt was also seen on his cabin wall in "By Any Other Name." He wore a different tartan, a black and white one, in "The Savage Curtain," one of the last original series episodes.

Scott Tartan.
James Doohan in cooperation with the City of Aberdeen, did research and came up with the actual Scott tartan. After he died, Aberdeen Erected a staue to James Doohan for contributing to tourism. So it is the Scott tartan.

Trekkie geek.
I recently read that in a Trekkie magazine I saw on a newsstand. It was dedicated to James Doohan. When he treid out for the original series, He did several accenrts hoping to get a role as one of the crew. Gene Roddenberry loved all of the accents he did. He offered him the role of Chief Engineer. James said "Well, If I'm to be an Engineer, I best be Scottish, as they are the best engineers in the world." That's how the Chief Engineer on the U.S.S. Enterprise came to be Scottish. It was also James' idea to wear a kilt in the Original series.

Beuth, I don't care who you are that's awesome information right there!! I didn't know that either about Gene Roddenberry. I'm a major Trekkie and you've opened my eyes this evening.
