Not many pics I'm afraid from last nights New Years Eve party .. I was to busy bending me right arm. Twas a good night.

Les & Gordon (it was Gordon house where the party was) both members of the band.
It was just after midnight and we had sent Les outside (because of her black hair) to knock the door and come in with a piece of coal and a cup of water.

Interesting First Foot customs.

The custom as I know it says a lass first foot is unlucky , as is a blond-haired man. It should be a dark-haired man. And he bears a peat or a lump of coal, that the fire might burn brightly, a cake to ensure the house will no go hungry and salt to ensure the wealth of the house.

Of course, if he were to also be bearing a single malt, that will ensure HIS welcome!
