The Afghan Campaign-Steven Pressfield. Deals with a soldiers experiences in Alexanders army as he trys to subjugate Afghanistan. I have all of Pressfields books and he's now probably the greatest living historical writer published today. All of his books are well worth it. I recommend reading the Gates of Fire for a different perspective before you go see 300 ,which is a mighty fine graphic novel in its own right.

Transmetropolitan Vol 4: The New Scum. Warren Ellis delightful comic about politics with lots of doses of Hunter S. Thompson and some Ballard as well as enough sheer madness you will soon be calling for filthy assistants and whisky

The Book With No Name: Anonymous- Bad **** monks, vampyres, Elvis, booze, swearing, fighting, and the manic energy of a Ridley and Tony Scott film, not to mention a Keira Knightley reference A fun fun romp to sit down and read. A sequal is being written.

Battle Pope Vol 1 and 2: Blasphemous and so laugh out loud funny, definately not for everyone but a friend knows my type of humour and gave me these for christmas.

Queen's Play-Dorothy Dunnett: The second volume of the Lymond Chronicles, Dunnett is just a smidge behind Pressfield in my opinion, her historical fiction is always enjoyable and the well researched, her book on Macbeth KING HEREAFTER is one of the best on the misunderstood man I have ever read.

Still to read I have His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman and starting Jan 18th various textbooks and what not for college.

    Rob
