If you're making a fringe, make several small cuts up the edge that is being fringed so that the threads you are pulling out are shorter. Cut at a right angle to the edge into the material. When you finally reach the width of fringe your desire, the threads will be being pulled out whole. This works great and makes the job so much faster and easier. Plus, you're not as likely to snag or pull the material out of shape.
