Robin .. It does'nt fit that properly now and is a little uncomfortable to wear .. however, I'll 'ave a word with Eli and see what it looks like with me Jacket etc .. I may be able to survive a night in it ... that will mean extra more weight to cart now on the train .. Guitar/Borhran/Welsh Beers/Whisky/extra Cilt .. thanks!

Sorry!
Maybe a kiltshop or kiltmaker can alter your kilt, so you can start using it again?

It's seven actually, Dee!
As of this moment, I haven't thought much about what I'll be bringing or wearing to The Ferintosh weekend - apart from choosing between Prince Charlie and GT Doublet for the actual Dinner! Obviously the need will be for something different every day, and possibly something different for every morning and every afternoon! Also, because of our location, I am thinking that these will all have to be Scottish kilts - no Breton or Cornish for example - but I've not come to a final conclusion with that one.
Thank Heavens I am driving up from West Sussex, and so do not have to worry about suitcases, portmaneaux and cabin-trunks. However, I must remember that I am picking up Derek and all his 'gear' en route at Peterborough! I just hope Robertson and Emma are putting Derek and me into the room with the largest amount of hanging space!
By the way, Dee, I also have a gorgeous USAK Ireland's National, but I was not going to bring it as I thought it might be a little lightweight for Dumfries in January!!

Derek perhaps you can do something like what I had to do, I'm not sure what the problem is but if it is that the Cilt is a little snug you could most likely move the straps slightly back so as to give you a little more room, I found this on ebay a while ago when I was going through my own kilt repair, it might help out

I hope this helps.

I'll probably wear my new Teviotdale for the Friday kilts night and my Cunningham heavyweight for the Saturday, but haven't finally decided yet. RAF kilt is also an option.

Ouch! It's been so warm here that I really hadn't considered that. Must check weather and re-group.
Thanks for the heads-up

withoot tellin' oiny o' ya whit tae wear...
(cause ai dinnae bloody care whit ya wear!)
here is a wee bit o' dress advice.... (they o' ya bringin' partners- please inform them as weel...)
Pub Nicht:
1- it will be chilly (6-8ºC 40-42ºF) and wet ootside atween pubs....
luckily pubs are closely spaced an we willnae be oot in the weather maire than 3-5 minutes a' a time.... mony folk pub crawl here withoot oiny jacket an' a'... tae each they own...
2- in the pubs will bae hot and sweaty... dinnae wear/carry sae mony items (hats, gloves, scarves, glasses, camera, whisky books, tissues, mobiles...) that ya lose them aliang the crawl...
3- we are likely tae ainly have yin drink per pub... otherwise we will n'er mak it hame... be ready to travel licht and move quick...
4- streets are cobbled and slippy- wear guid walkin shoes....
5- there is no smokin' inside pubs in Scotland- if ya smoke ya will be oot in the drook a bit maire than the rest o' us....
Burns Supper:
1- the ainly dress code is kilts arr required fur men... bae as formal tae informal as ya want... ai enjoy dressin' oop sae ai will be formal arr clase tae it...
2- lassies can wear dresses if they choose- Emma will be wearin' troosers...
3- as the evenin' wears oan an oor bellies get fou we will want tae tak aff jackets an relax... nay problem there...
4- sorry- yin maire rule... if ya wear a baseball cap in ma hoose- ya stand a guid chance o' losin it in the fire!
