I find the colors to be fine. They are darker than some more modern kilts I guess, but I've seen other modern kilts (like one of mine which is custom made) in which you could hardly make out all the different shadings. IN fact, until I bought a weathered version of the same kilt, I had no idea that there were extra little lines there.
The photos do not do them justice, and I have found that seeing kilts laid out--as WPG does on their site--does not make a kilt look its best. Once I got mine, I was elated with the quality, look, and fit.
Ditto the info about the straps and buckles. I've spent five minutes trying to get the d**ned thing buckled before. They need some work, but it's still a good deal for the money. I plan to give mine a little treatment of some sort, even if that means replacing them.
