Wow, what an informative post by both Hamish and McMurdo! Thanks guys from the rest of us newbies who are considering a PC in the not too distant future.

I agree with you on the w/c so I may just have to get a new kilt, I know I can get one from my twin brother who never wears it, it was worn once, for his wedding. Unfortunatly Scott has cerebral palsey and therefore when he walks a kilt tends to slide down, so he is unable to wear it comfortably.

In my opinion Ghillie Brogues look almost like a costume, the shoes I have on were bought for my tuxedo, once I got them I decided to opt for the patent leather to wear with the tuxedo, so these have become my favorite footwear for my kilt.

Looks good, except for the spot of white, as Hamish noted. You're wearing that kilt a bit low on the knee. You could probably solve the problem by hitching it up a little.

Glad to help. Are you left-handed? I see you've got your sgian dubh in your left sock.

That outfit looks great and you wear it like a natural.

You sir, have just raised the bar. Next kilt night, I'm going to have to work very hard to 'spiff up' a bit!
Looks great! I found the PC I rented for my nephews wedding very comfortable to wear, more so than a regular sport coat or suit jacket. How is this one for comfort?

Looks good. I ordered a kilt from Heritage of Scotland and had no problems with delivery or the quality. Since then I've heard that they can be kind of hit-or-miss. Guess I lucked up. :-)

Yes I am left handed, and I have worn the "for hire" PC before so that might help explain why it feels natural, I just thought I was at that age where I wanted the proper outfit for occassions such as Burns night etc. and to continue to hire out everytime seems like a waste of money. To tell you the truth I find it harder to dress down a kilt than to dress it up.

Thank you your input is most welcome, I was going to order the ghillie brogues as well but I only had a large enough buget to get the PC and I desparately needed a dress sporran to go with it as the only other sporran I own is a 57 yr old brown daywear. So in short the ghillie brogues will have to wait, and if I never get them then thats ok too.
