It seems if you were to add some type of non-slip surface (rubber?) to the inside, they would work well for a tank.
It would be nice if some of the kilt makers started carrying these.
Thanks for the info and pics!
I ordered 36 - a dozen for me (wishful thinking) and some for other Bay Area X-Markers who expressed an interest in combining an order.
Rubber might work but tends to eventually leave gummy marks on cloth. Thick, hard felt is what I've seen on some older hangers.

The guys at Setco are fantastic, I sent them an e-mail about the 16 inch hangers. Jeff from Setco called me, I asked him if it would be possible to purchase a couple of the hangers from them, he said YES, so I will be sending him a check for my very small order.
I think we must have created a small upsurge in demand for these 16 inch hangers. He mentioned several of the guys had been in contact with him about the hangers.
Thanks for the link, I appreciate it.

Think that's bad! I just ordered a 12" from SWK for $3.95! Luckily I get excellent service from Stillwater and shall upgrade to the 16" through them when I get more kilts and when they start stocking them.

OK, this is kind of funny. What you don't know is that Sciuropturus is the owner of Stillwater kilts.

I was under the impression he said it KNOWING that Sciuropterus was Stillwater Jerry. I totally "heard" ccga's post with sarcasm in it.
Either way.....I agree with Alan H, it was a very humerous post!

I tried Wal-mart hangers, a while they did hold PV kilts well, the plastic assembly part broke after only a few times. Watching for Stillwater availability.

Any chance of exchanging 12's that don't work for 16's that do, Jerry?

These type of hangers will definately NOT work with a tank, not even a 13 oz. but will work with a lighter kilt such as an SWK. I found some hangers at Target that hold them fast and my heavy kilts have never fallen from them. They do not have the wooden bar to clasp but have two sliding catches like clothespins on a strong wire and they are more than adequate for any heavy kilt plus I can put my jackets over the entire works so I save room in the closet.
