When I was at Epcot in October, I did see 1 utilikilt, that the only one I have seen, except for P1M'S breccy kilt.

You didn't offend me; I should have re-worded my post and just asked to you to clarify that point. Now that you have, I see where you're coming from.

out in Aspen, there's a guy that seems to always be wearing a kilt or a utilikilt around town and on the slopes. I even saw him the weekend after New Years (I thought about wearing mine and then backed out...Doh!), with telemark skis and a very large stick that he uses instead of ski poles (what's that all about?!?).

Here in southern Wisconsin, I never saw kilts except for a few, rare occasions. Whenever a piper would be in chuch, he would be kilted, and one other time on campus (before I attended Beloit College) I saw a student in a UK. Other than that, I never saw kilts until I began wearing them myself!

We had another local guy who wore a Utilikilt regularly. I haven't seen him in months. Not counting kilt nights and other events, I've seen 6 other kilted blokes walking around in the last 7 years.

I have several friends around who have kilts, I have several at church, one of my co-workers (a piper) has two kilts. They all wear traditional tartan kilts and wear them for special events. At my place of employment I couldn't wear a kilt if I wanted too because of safety considerations and rules. If I could wear one everyday, I probably wouldn't.

Over the period of a year I wear a kilt about 15 or 20 times, mostly to St Andrew's Society events, highland games and the 3 kirkn's I participate in. I wear my kilts to the events of my choosing. I don't feel it is necessary to wear a kilt every day of my life to enjoy them. Most of the kilt wearers I see are at these kiinds of events.

If I am going to one of these events and need to run a few errands prior to leaving or on the way, I am not the least bit shy about wearing my kilt into the grocery or drug store, dry cleaners etc.

I live in a town of about 40,000, I know one guy with a UK original - I've seen him wear it twice, my wedding last August and to a church performance his girlfriend was in last month. My wife tells me there are some high school-aged guys running around kilted, but I've lived here ten years and not seen any. I wear mine 4-5 times a week.
