Mum has Scottish ancestry, and knows a little about traditional kilt-wearing. In Australia, that means Highland Games and the like. I think that's making the situation harder.
They both know I wear a short skirt to bed instead of boxers, yet have chosen not to make an issue of it. I want to transfer that comfort to day wear.
Just do it mate, that's my advice 
Where are you getting your kilt from?
I ordered a Standard in Snow Camo from NeoKilt. If I decide to get one sooner, I'll buy a Mocker from Utilikilt.
