    Celtic music and kilts go hand in hand. In my book men who perform celtic music but haven't got the guts to wear the kilt to perform just don't qualify as celtic musicians.

    a little harsh, but I sympathise.
    Late last year I met the Battlefield Band and interviewed them for our celtic music broadcast.
    I did ask Alan Reid why they didn't wear kilts, and suggested they would look great on stage if they did.
    He simply laughed off the suggestion saying he didn't have the legs for it. (I'll bet he doesn't think twice about wearing shorts)
